Career Ready Programs

Students in the Automotive Technology program spend half of the day at their high school and half of their day on campus at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) earning an Automotive Technology Maintenance and Light Repair Certificate. Students may receive dual credit at no cost to the student for successful completion of JCCC coursework. JCCC requires a minimum high school GPA of 2.7 to participate in this program. Students in the Hospitality & Culinary program spend half of their day at their high school and half of their day on campus at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) working toward a certificate or associate degree in five available areas. Coursework includes both classroom instruction preparing for multiple facets of the industry and hands-on laboratory work using industry-standard equipment and supplies in JCCC professional kitchens. 

Students have the opportunity to pursue the following credentials through the partnership with Johnson County Community College (JCCC):

• Chef Apprenticeship, Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
• Dietary Manager Certificate
• Food & Beverage Management, AAS
• Hotel & Lodging Management, AAS
• Pastry & Baking Certificate

Students in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) spend half of the day at their high school and half of their day on campus at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) working toward an associate degree or certificate options. Students may receive dual credit at no cost to the student for successful completion of JCCC coursework. Students are required to take the JCCC Accuplacer exam for both Math and Reading as a part of the application process; scores on this assessment must indicate a readiness for college coursework. Program details are below.

Students in the Metal Fabrication spend half of the day at their high school and half of their day on campus at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) working toward an associate degree or certificate options. Students may receive dual credit at no cost to the student for successful completion of JCCC coursework. Students are required to take the JCCC Accuplacer exam for both Math and Reading as a part of the application process; scores on this assessment must indicate a readiness for college coursework. Program details are below.

Students in the Cybersecurity program spend half of the day at their high school and half of their day on campus at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) working toward a certificate in the field of Cybersecurity. Students may receive dual credit at no cost to the student for successful completion of JCCC coursework. 

The cybersecurity program is a two-year program; both junior and senior students can participate in the program, and students who begin as juniors can earn the Cybersecuity Certificate.
